September 12, 2025: Digging In With The Ecdysis Foundation
This past June, we welcomed the Ecdysis Foundation to TROO for a morning of soil sampling and observation in our orchard. Their visit was part of their ongoing work to study how farms like ours contribute to a thriving ecosystem.
If this is the first time you’re hearing about the Ecdysis Foundation, here’s a little background: they recently wrapped up a three-year agroecology experiment called the 1,000 Farms Initiative, a project researching regenerative systems across North America. Their goal is simple yet powerful—help farms prove, through science, the value of healthy soil and diverse ecosystems in creating more resilient food systems.
We’re especially excited to see what their testing reveals about the organic matter in the core soil sample they collected from our orchard. The health of our soil tells the story of everything we grow here. It connects directly to our mission of keeping farming practices sustainable, pesticide-free, and rooted in nature.
Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing updates when results become available. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be an ongoing partnership, helping us learn more about the land we steward and the natural cycles we work alongside every day.
